can be applied to a variety of Surfaces.

Materials
- Applies to non-porous metals Casidiam does
not apply to porous metals such as brass, cast iron, sintered
materials, and similar metals. For other materials, call.
Surface finish
Casidiam provides maximum benefits on surfaces that have machining
marks removed through grinding or polishing. A finish of 16
microinch or better is desired. Casidiam can be applied to
highly polished surfaces, including mirror finish.
Surface
Condition
On a production basis, components to be coated need to be
new and unused. For initial trials, if used, Casidiam can
be applied if contaminants are removed through a bead blasting
or other similar process. Grinding and polishing after may
be required. Residues from any heat treating process must
be removed from the surface. Oxidation (rust) blocks Casidiam
from coating to the surface, even microscopic size oxidation.
Residuals from polishing processes should be removed prior
to coating. Casidiam is not applied to coated surfaces, although
exceptions apply. Call for coating over other coatings.
Other
Surface Effects
Residual magnetism should be removed. Heat treating effects
that impart high quantities of other elements to the surface
of metals may block the coating process. Call if your components
have these effects.
Surfaces
To Coat Components must be fixtured in the
processing unit during coating. Surface(s) in the plane or
side to be fixtured will not be coated. Three types of surfaces
should be specified:

Edge
Effects Casidiam will coat over sharp edges,
such as 90 degree breaks. To avoid coating on surfaces adjacent
to coated ones may require masking. |
